TIFFIN, OH — Aaron Jones officially launched his campaign for the Ohio House in the 88th District on Thursday evening before a crowd of supporters at Reino’s Catering & Party Room in Downtown Tiffin.
Jones, a production supervisor at Toledo Molding & Die with more than 20 years at the company, is a U.S. Army veteran who served with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and has represented Tiffin’s 1st Ward on City Council since 2024. He is running to represent all of Seneca and Sandusky Counties in the Ohio House.
“I’m not running because I’ve been planning a political career. I’m running because the people in this district deserve someone in Columbus who actually understands what it’s like to clock in every day, make ends meet, and fight for your family,” Jones said. “That’s the life I’ve lived, and that’s who I’ll fight for.”
Thursday’s kickoff coincided with Downtown Tiffin’s Third Thursdays and drew supporters from across the district. Jones spoke about priorities including protecting local public schools, standing up for working families, and ensuring communities have a voice in decisions that affect their water, infrastructure, and quality of life.
Jones is running unopposed in the May 5 Democratic primary. The general election is November 3, 2026.
The 88th District covers all of Seneca and Sandusky Counties. Jones lives in Tiffin with his wife Tracy. They raised their boys in this community and have four grandchildren.
