LIMA, Ohio — Tiffin City Councilman and State Representative candidate Aaron Jones attended the 92nd Annual Ohio Farmers Union State Convention this past Saturday, where he met with family farmers and rural advocates to discuss the challenges facing Ohio agriculture and rural communities.
The convention brought together farmers, policymakers, and experts from across the state to discuss issues including farm economics, trade and tariffs, healthcare and childcare costs, and the role of education in sustaining strong rural communities.
“Family farmers are dealing with rising costs, uncertainty, and policies that too often ignore what’s happening on the ground,” Jones said. “If we want strong rural communities, we need state policies that actually work for the people doing the work. That starts with listening to farmers and rural families.”
Jones spoke with farmers and advocates from across Ohio about the importance of protecting family farms, strengthening local food systems, and ensuring rural communities have the resources they need to thrive.
During the convention, Jones also spoke with fellow attendees, including physician, public health leader, and 2026 gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton, about the connection between agriculture, rural health, and economic stability in Ohio’s communities.
Jones is a U.S. Army veteran, factory supervisor, and first-term member of Tiffin City Council. He is running for State Representative in Ohio’s 88th House District, which includes all of Seneca and Sandusky counties.
The general election will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
